Encore presentation of Club-produced radio show, 'It’s a Wonderful Life," released
An encore presentation of Marty Bufalini’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Show,” an adaptation of the classic story, will air on the National Press Club's website at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Dec. 21, and subsequently on demand. It also again will be offered by the CBS Radio Network to its 600-plus affiliates nationwide, and will be featured on the American Heritage website. The story revolves around George Bailey who, exasperated by life's challenges, wishes he'd never been born. Broadcast Team Meeting
The Broadcast-Podcast team will have its first meeting of the year on Thursday, January 5 at 12pm. Members are welcome to join the discussion in-person in the Cosgrove Lounge or remotely via zoom. Club donates toys to Children's National Hospital collected at kids' holiday party
National Press Club staff delivered 65 toys to Children's National Hospital Thursday that were collected Dec. 17 during the annual Children's Holiday Party. Club closed Monday for Christmas Day observance
The National Press Club will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas observance. Because Christmas Day occurs on Sunday this year, the federal holiday is observed the following day. The Club will resume normal operations on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The Wire will not publish again until Wednesday, Dec. 28. The Club wishes its members and employees a happy holiday.

New appetizers, roast beef sandwich and strawberry ice cream join Reliable Source menu
The new year is bringing new items to the menu at the Club's Reliable Source Restaurant. As appetizers, crispy chicken strips coated in breadcrumbs and cheese replace chicken wings, and a platter of pastry-wrapped hot dogs, macaroni and cheese balls, meatballs and mozzarella sticks . has been added. Ranch or blue cheese dressing are offered for dipping. Both appetizers are priced at $12. A new winter green salad of peppery arugula, radishes, fennel, oranges and pecans is salad is $6 as a side dish and $15 as an entrée. Journalism Institute newsletter will resume publication in the new year
The National Press Club Journalism Institute's newsletter, The Latest, is scheduled to resume publication next month. The newsletter went on hiatus in October following the departure of the institute's executive director Julie Moos. To find back issues, click here. The newsletter began in March 2020 as Covering Coronavirus. It became The Latest in August of that year. Meanwhile, if you’d like to stay in touch with the Institute, you can subscribe to the NPCJI general newsletter. Subscriptions are free to all Club members, but donations to defray costs are welcome.
