UN climate negotiators have sought unsuccessfully to win "loss and damage" compensation for countries most affected by flooding and other disasters wrought by climate change from countries that are the biggest greenhouse gas contributors. Nakate and several other climate activists plan to press the issue at the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in November.

During the stay-at-home days of the COVID-19 pandemic, people across all age groups sampled listening to podcasts, and Hollywood stars became involved in generating the downloadable programs.
