Before You Visit
Modified Hours of Operation The National Press Club will have modified hours of operation. The club will be open to members with confirmed reservations Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The last arrival time available for reservation is 7 p.m.
Club Reservations Until June 11, members are required to make a reservation to visit the club. Reservations can be made via our online form. Reservations are for members and their guests. No members will be permitted to enter the facility after 7 p.m. Members with a 7 p.m. reservation may stay until close.
When You Arrive
Arriving at the Club Members with reservations should call the National Press Club at 202-662-7500 when they arrive at the National Press Building to be escorted to the 13th floor.
Elevators Elevators will be limited to no more than two (2) occupants in each car. It may take a few minutes to arrive at the 13th floor.
Temperature Check All members will be appropriately screened for COVID-19 symptoms. When you arrive at the facility you should expect to have your temperature checked. This check will happen BEFORE you are admitted into the Club. No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 will be permitted to enter.
Proof of Membership Members must show their current membership card in order to enter the club. If a member does not have their membership card with them, they can provide their member number. The front desk will need to verify that their membership is active and up to date before entering the facility.
Member Organized Events Any member interested in hosting an in-person event must have that gathering approved by the club. Members should email Director of Membership Kate Helster at [email protected] with any questions.
Membership Office Members wishing to meet with Membership staff should come to the front desk. Members are still encouraged to email [email protected] with your request so that we can best help you.

New research from the Media Insight Project that sought to understand what underpins mistrust in media found journalists and the public aren't on the same page when it comes to the fundamental principles of journalism.
