Lithuanian Ambassador to discuss Lithuania’s first presidency of European Union
The Ambassador of Lithuania to the U.S., Zygimantas Pavilionis, will discuss Lithuania’s first presidency of the Council of the European Union at a Newsmaker news event on Aug. 22. Photos are due by COB Friday, Aug. 16, for the 14th Annual NPC Members' Photography Exhibition. Entries may be dropped off in the Club's Membership Office. Each member may submit up to four photos. The exhibit, sponsored by the Club's Photography Committee, is open to all Club members and is not juried. Photos will be hung on Aug. 28, and will be on display until Sept. 30. Chris Battle, public relations trendsetter, dies after 4-year cancer fight
National Press Club member Chris Battle, a public relations innovator, former newspaper editorial writer, and an accomplished political spokesman, died at 8 a.m. Thursday after a four-year fight against kidney cancer. He was 45. Mr. Battle, of Alexandria, Va., died at his parents' home near Savannah, Ga., surrounded by his parents and wife, Dena Battle. He is also survived by two young children, Kate and Josie.
