Virginia state Senator Deeds to speak at Luncheon on mental health, Monday, March 31
Virginia state Senator Creigh Deeds, who is pushing in the Virginia legislature for mental health-care reform, will speak on mental health at a National Press Club Luncheon Monday, March 31. Deeds, a Democrat, began his work on mental health after his son, who had a serious mental illness, died last year after being denied inpatient treatment. Deeds is a former county prosecutor who authored a law allowing public access to the Virginia sex offender registry.
