The McClendon Room and the newly renovated Games Room of the Reliable Source are available to members as an exceptional venue for meetings, conferences, graduation parties, birthday celebrations and other special occasions. Jerry Norton, 67, longtime journalist, National Press Club member, and Vietnam war veteran, will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery on April 11. A reception will follow at the National Press Club. His family invites friends and colleagues to join them at Arlington at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. service, followed by a reception in his memory at the National Press Club. 15th Annual National Press Club members’ photo exhibit slated for September
Black and white, color, or hand-painted! It’s time to start thinking about your best photos for the 15th Annual National Press Club Members’ Photography Exhibition, slated to run the month of September in the NPC lobby. Sponsored by the Club’s Photography Committee, the exhibit is open to all NPC members, who may submit up to four of their best shots. Each photo may not exceed 11” x 14” and prints must be securely mounted and matted. Photos are due in the Club’s Membership Office between Aug. 4 and Aug. 15. The National Press Club joins with journalists around the world as we mourn the death in Afghanistan of veteran Associated Press photographer Anja Niedringhaus, 48, an internationally acclaimed and Pulitzer Prize-winning German photographer. The National Press Club softball team opens its season on Saturday, April 12. All members and spouses are eligible to play. There is no cost to join the team. The Club plays in the Metropolitan Media Softball League in Montgomery County. The first games will be played at CapitalView-Homewood Park.
