NPC Members Can Buy Tickets for Gridiron Reprise
Club members can buy tickets for the Gridiron Club's Sunday reprise, traditionally staged for friends and family. The Gridiron's white-tie dinner has taken place for 126 years, and features songs and skits that singe -- not burn -- the president, congressional leaders and others. Members of the Washington press corps sing and dance in costume. The reprise will be held on Sunday, March 9, in the ballroom of the Washington Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street NW. Jan. 23, 1932: President Herbert Hoover, weighed down by the Depression and re-election worries, vows to stay just 10 minutes at the inaugural of the Club’s new president Bascom Timmons of the Houston Chronicle.
