Jazz Night Returns to Fourth Estate Restaurant Tonight
Jazz Night returns to the Fourth Estate Restaurant during dinner tonight. Members of the Blues Alley Youth Orchestra will play from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. as background music. To reserve, click here or call 202-662-7638. The restaurant will host the event with Blues Alley, Georgetown’s home for jazz. In addition to great music, there will be culinary jazz specials of oysters Rockefeller, oysters Bienville and okra gumbo with rice and beans. Tickets Still Available for Fourth Estate Dinner Honoring Andrea Mitchell
The government may be shut down but the show will go on this Friday as the National Press Club honors NBC’s Andrea Mitchell with its prestigious Fourth Estate Award. Executive Chef Susan Delbert will prepare the dinner, which features remarks from past Fourth Estate Award Winner Jim Lehrer, USA Today’s Susan Page and NBC News’ Ken Strickland. Tickets for Takei Luncheon Limited to Members and Guests Through Friday
Actor and gay rights advocate George Takei, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on ``Star Trek'' will speak about LGBT issues at a Club luncheon on Friday, Oct. 18. Sulu was the helmsman aboard the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek television series, and later was promoted to captain of the USS Excelsior. Takei has become and outspoken advocate for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people and for the rights of Japanese-Americans. Using Social Media Is Subject of Friday Breakfast at the Club
A lesson on how to use social media for branding purposes is the subject of a "Get It Online" program Friday at the Club. Fellow Communicator members and Vocus' social-media manager Stacey Miller will lead the breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. on Oct. 4 in the Truman Lounge. Club's Delbert and Equinox's Grays Team Up for Fourth Estate Dinner
Equinox restaurant co-owners Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray teamed up with Club Executive Chef Susan Delbert to host a sold-out dinner featuring dishes from the Grays’ latest cookbook, The New Jewish Table, in the Fourth Estate Restaurant on Sept. 25. Duncan Calls Education a "Critical Investment" for Future
