Why is it needed?
Health Care workers are pulling longer and very demanding shifts during Covid-19. They finish the shift exhausted and in urgent need of a shower. And they must commute home and make dinner. Often dinner is skipped which leads to serious problems. These nurses are risking their lives to save their patients but also the community. We can and must help them with some of their own personal challenges.
How does it work?
The Press Club culinary team prepares meals and delivers them to Howard University Hospital in real time. Those meals are provided in takeaway form to front line medical workers at shift changes.
The exhibit this year is all digital, with only electronic images accepted. Members may submit up to four original images, not shown before in the annual exhibit. However, images displayed in the Club's Coronvirus Life gallery may be entered this year. Full instructions and guidelines can be downloaded from the Photo Committee web site. Members can also tell the stories behind their photos and a little about themselves in an online catalog, captured on the entry form. Participation in the catalog is optional.
