Recent visitors to the National Press Club may have been wondering which VIP was in the halls given dozens of journalists roaming the Club and Tweeting pictures and posts. For the nearly 90 media professionals, from correspondents to communicators, the posts were the main attraction. They were on assignment for "Taking Twitter to the Next Level," a class held at the Club on Feb. 6. Free Wharton School seminar in Washington, 8:30 am March 4
The Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists will present a special free one-day seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 4 in Washington. Members of the National Press Club will get free admission at the 16th annual National Capital Political Memorabilia Show, scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at the Club. The show, sponsored by the American Political Items Collectors National Capital Chapter, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature tables of buttons, posters, publications and other memorabilia. Russian aggressiveness toward Ukraine is making the Baltic region nervous, Latvia's ambassador to the United States said at a Feb. 5 National Press Club Newsmaker. Latvians are “nervous and concerned” over increased tensions between the West and neighboring Russia, Andris Razans said. "This situation is really getting worse."
