The clarion call of the Jazz Age sounded in 1919 at the National Press Club and across the nation. Prohibition began in DC, Woman's Suffrage was won, and women - barred from the all-male National Press Club - formed their own Women’s National Press Club. The Club was even graced by Royalty in 1919 when Edward, the Prince of Wales, made an appearance. 2019 Silver Owls Fall Hoot

Participants talked about the position of al-Qaida in the world following bombings in Madrid, the future of the war on terrorism, and the impact of terror attacks on U.S. foreign policy. They also talked about the results of elections in Spain following the terrorist bombings of the rail infrastructure in Madrid and the European response to the attacks. The National Press Club plans to celebrate Oktoberfest in the Reliable Source with a buffet starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
