Exciting lineup of upcoming Update-1 podcasts
Update-1, the National Press Club’s new podcast, will cover press freedom, immigration and the Fourth Estate Award in its next three shows. The podcast discussing press freedom will be published August 11 while the show analyzing immigration and border security is due for publication on August 27. Send in your best shots for NPC members’ photo exhibit, entries due Aug. 4-15
The deadline is fast approaching for members to submit their best shots for the 15th Annual NPC Members’ Photo Exhibit. Photos are due in the Club’s Membership Office, beginning Monday, Aug. 4. The last day to submit photos is COB Friday, Aug. 15. Each member may submit up to four photos. Each photo may not exceed 11 x 14” (print and mat), and all photos must be securely mounted and matted. The exhibit, sponsored by the Club's Photography Committee, is open to all Club members and is not juried. CVS Caremark President and CEO to Speak at Luncheon on Sept. 19
CVS Caremark Corp. President and CEO Larry J. Merlo will discuss corporate America’s role in reducing chronic illness and delivering better health outcomes for consumers at a National Press Club luncheon on Friday, Sept. 19. National Press Club expresses concern over reported detention of journalists in Iran
The National Press Club expressed concern Thursday over reports that a Washington Post reporter, his wife and two photojournalists have been detained in Iran. "If these reports are accurate, we urge the Iranian authorities to promptly explain this action and to release these journalists, who are merely covering news in Iran," said NPC President Myron Belkind. Sometimes it’s time for a change. This year the NPC BEAT THE DEADLINE 5K, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, has a new race route. Same start and finish outside the National Press Club on F St. NW between 13th and 14th St. Racers will proceed down scenic Pennsylvania Ave. to Constitution Ave. This year, we make an exciting left turn onto 3rd St. and turn around near H St. to come back to the finish via the reverse route.
