Thursday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Truman Lounge is the Pub Quiz: Press Club members and guest gathering once a month for a trivia competition complete with prizes. Back by popular demand: Crab Fest returns to NPC's Reliable Source, Sept. 18
By request of National Press Club Members, the annual Crab Fest buffet comes back on Thursday, Sept. 18 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the NPC's Reliable Source. Members and their guests are invited to sample the crabs at the close of summer. A more complete menu will be posted later. National Press Club questions Afghanistan's treatment of U.S. reporter
The National Press Club president raised questions Aug. 20 about the government of Afghanistan's expulsion of a New York Times journalist whose reporting had displeased Afghan authorities. Afghan officials ordered the reporter, Matthew Rosenberg, to leave the country and never return. It was the first expulsion of a Western reporter in Afghanistan since the 2001 toppling of the Taliban regime, the Times reported. NPC member Ambrose touts OECD's 'freecycle' of its collection of books
National Press Club member Natalie Ambrose invites Press Club members to browse the free collection of materials available at the free collection of the Organization for Economic Cooperation, or OECD. OECD publishes a lot of books and data which could be of interest to Club members doing research or wanting information on a variety of topics. The National Press Club condemns the execution of American photojournalist James Foley, who had been missing since Nov. 22, 2012. The terrorist group Islamic State released a video claiming to be Foley's execution.
