On Monday, March 7, 2011, The Reliable source will serve a modified menu consisting of cold sandwiches and salads only. No hot food will be prepared. Caesar salads and House Salads will be available in both appetizer and entrée sizes. Entrée salads will be available with cold chicken, cold chicken salad, tuna salad and shrimp salad. Cold turkey, ham, roast beef, corned beef, pastrami, bacon, tuna salad, chicken salad and shrimp salad sandwiches—with or without cheese-- will be available. The section of the NPC web site dedicated to recording Club actions pertaining to press freedom just got an upgrade. The National Press Club's softball team is gearing up for another season of play starting in April. Any club member and their spouse is eligible to play, and is encouraged to do so. National Press Club Urges Egypt to Bring Abusers of Journalists to Justice
The National Press Club urged Egypt to bring to justice those responsible for abusing reporters in that country and to enshrine press freedom in its new constitution and other laws. In a letter Tuesday to Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian ambassador to the United States, NPC President Mark Hamrick said the case of CBS News correspondent Lara Logan was one of dozens of brutal attacks in Egypt since last month. European Journalists Sought for Fellowship in Vienna
The Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) seeks applicants for its Milena Jesenska Fellowships for Journalists 2011/2012. The application deadline is April 15.
