What does a journalist do? Tell the Dept. of Labor
The Dept. of Labor is seeking help from National Press Club journalist members for a project designed to accurately describe their occupation. RTI International, the contractor for the project, is asking Club journalist members to help to populate the O*NET database with essential data about reporters that will help shape the way the occupation is described to millions of job seekers, educators and business leaders. Solar leaders advocate extension of cash grants
Leaders from solar energy companies advocated extension of a cash grant program for renewable energy projects that is scheduled to expire at year end during a Dec. 14 Newsmaker. The program, formally known as Section 1603, provides cash grants to renewable energy initiatives in lieu of tax credits. The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) predicts that 37,000 jobs would be created from a one-year extension of the program. Cantore says better forecasts, planning ease pain of year’s terrible weather
In his a quarter century of covering weather, Jim Cantore's 2011 storm chasing stands out. He has “never seen a year like the one we’ve just had. Those at greatest risk remain the next generation of journalist leaders.
