The Communications and Marketing Committee will hold an informal gathering at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Reliable Source. There is no agenda and no formal meeting. "Onion" Spoofers at 7:30 pm Today; No Admission Charge
The Onion returns to the National Press Club at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, for "The Onion Presents: 2009's Biggest Stories." There is no admission charge. The event will feature three writers and editors from the news-satire publication, who will review The Onion's take on the biggest stories of the year and discuss their new book, Our Front Pages. Roberts at Dec. 14 Young Members Meeting; RSVP Required
Author and journalist Steve V. Roberts will meet with members of the Young Members Committee at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, in the McClendon Room. RSVPs are required for the holiday Cocktails with Champions, and space is limied. Cocktails with Champions offers budding journalists the opportunity to get advice on stories or job tips from renowned journalists in a less intimidating setting. Roberts is a 30-year veteran of journalism, and was a senior reporter for U.S. News and World Report. He is also a regular on PBS's "Washington Week" and CNN.
