Travel Photo Advice at Photo Committee Meeting, Noon, May 27
NPC member Michael Foley will speak at the Photography Committee luncheon meeting at noon on Thursday, May 27, in the McClendon Room. Foley will discuss, "Travel Photography: The Journey is the Destination.” He will describe how a photo trip can start at the window seat of a plane. He will provide tips for taking good travel shots and optimizing them using Photoshop. Foley’s topics will include using various focal lengths, shooting at different times of the day, creating panoramic shots, and carrying a small camera and a tiny tripod. Pattengale Receives Sagamore Fellowship
NPC member Jerry Pattengale, assistant provist at Indiana Wesleyan University, has been selected the Sagamore Institute v siting fellow for education and civil discourse for 2010-11. Pattengale is the author of "The Purpose Guided Student and Why I Teach" and "Helping Sophomores Succeed." He also is the founding executive director of The National Conversations: The University and the Public Square.

Deb Price Wins Nieman Fellowship
NPC member Deb Price was selected as a 2011 Nieman Fellow. A Washington correspondent for the Detroit News, she will study China's explosive growth and the opportunities and challenges it presents Michigan. The 25 journalists from the U.S. and oversees will study at Harvard University for a year. The group includes journalists who work in print, radio, television, photography, filmmaking and online.

Club Signs Agreement with Georgetown Program
The Club and Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies signed a memorandum of understanding May 26 to give Club members who enroll in the university’s School of Continuing Studies preferred rates.
