"Evening in the Palace of Reason" at Book Group, Noon June 19
The NPC's Books & Brunch group will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, in the Fourth Estate Restaurant to discuss "Evening in the Palace of Reason: Bach Meets Frederick The Great in the Age of Enlightenment" by James R. Gaines. Free parking at the PMI garage on G Street between 13th and 14th streets is available to those who buy a meal. Surviving Fiji's Cyclone Winston
Cyclone Winston is the worst storm ever recorded in the southern hemisphere. It had sustained winds of 185 miles an hour and killed 42 people. It also destroyed thousands of homes in Fiji, left many people without water and electricity and forced tens of thousands of Fijians to live in evacuation centers.
