Iraqi Spokesman Lauds Status of Forces Agreement with U.S.
Most Iraqis think the Status of Forces Agreement their government recently signed with the U.S. "is good for them and the best available arrangement possible at present," Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh told a Dec. 11 Newsmaker. Gordon Peterson is 500th New Member of 2008
The National Press Club Board of Governors welcomes the 500th new member approved this year, ABC 7/WJLA senior correspondent and anchor Gordon Peterson. Having covered news in Washington for four decades, Peterson has been called the "Dean of Anchors" in the nation's capital. His was one of 78 applications approved this month, capping a year of strong recruitment for the NPC. As part of the celebration of the Club's centennial, the board has waived initiation fees for applicants in 2008, representing a savings of up to $350.
