NPC members to vote on $1 a month dues increase
National Press Club members at the General Membership Meeting on Friday, Oct. 5 at noon will be asked to approve a $1 per month dues increase. The proposed increase, approved by the NPC Board of Governors, would apply to all membership categories except students, spouses, partners, widows and inactives, whose dues would remain unchanged. NPC hosts Oktoberfest Buffet Night on Thursday, Oct. 18
NPC Members and their guests are invited to a special buffet dinner with music by accordion player Roy Beyer on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Reliable Source. This Oktoberfest evening of food and music was arranged at the request of members. Enjoy the festivities and our international cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Susan Delbert. Fourth Estate Plans Lobster Night Sept. 26
Crabs walk sideways, but lobsters walk straight -- the Fourth Estate restaurant plans a Lobster Night on Wednesday, Sept. 26, the last Wednesday of the month. Opposition to Eisenhower Memorial design voiced at NPC Newsmaker
Two architects voiced their opposition to the design of the proposed memorial to former President Dwight Eisenhower at a National Press Club Newsmaker Sept. 18. Milton W. Grenfell, principal of Grenfell Architecture and vice president of the National Civic Arts Society, and Robert K. Varmus to discuss impediments to cancer research at 10 a.m. Sept. 25
Nobel Laureate Dr. Harold Varmus, director of the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, will discuss the barriers that impede the nation’s ability to make faster progress against cancer during a National Press Club Newsmaker that begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.
