Debate watch party tonight
Join us to watch the last presidential debate before the November election from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, for members only in the Truman Lounge and in the First Amendment Lounge, where the event will be open to the public. The moderator will be Bob Schieffer, host of Face the Nation on CBS, and the topic will be foreign policy. Drinks will be available to order in both locations. The First Amendment Lounge opens at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and is hosted in a non-partisan atmosphere. Please register for free admission here: #debatesatNPC is the hashtag for the event.

Did you know that National Press Club members have free access to Club luncheon transcripts? All luncheon written transcripts are available to view within 24 hours of each event. The transcripts are located under the Membership tab at press.org. In addition, video and/or audio links are available for select luncheons. Two days after the election, from 10 a.m. until noon on Nov. 8, a panel of polling experts will sit down at the National Press Club Journalism Institute's Bloomberg Classroom to discuss the numbers. Supermodel Christy Turlington Burns to launch congressional initiative at Oct. 22 Newsmaker
Supermodel Christy Turlington Burns and the Boston Women’s Health Book Collective will appear at a Newsmaker press conference 1 p.m. Monday to launch an initiative to send every member of Congress a copy of the landmark book, "Our Bodies, Our Selves." The event will be held in the Murrow Room. Along with Turlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts, other speakers will include Judy Norsigian, executive director and founder of the collective, and Vivian Pinn, retired director, Office of Research on Women’s Health at the National Institutes of Health.
