Reporting the world: National Press Club seeks the best work
The National Press Club is looking for the year’s best international reporting. The Club’s journalism contest recognizes international work, both print/online and broadcast, with the Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence. The entries must demonstrate an understanding of American foreign policy and how foreign affairs affects those policies. The award is named for a distinguished diplomatic correspondent for The Associated Press and a founding member of the National Press Club. Reliable Source celebrates St. Patrick's Day with buffet, music, March 14
National Press Club members are invited to a popular event, the St. Patrick's Day Buffet and celebrations on Thursday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the NPC's Reliable Source. Music by members' favorite guitarist Matt Palombo. Executive Chef Susan Delbert is preparing delicious food especially for this occasion. National Press Club Newsmakers Committee cancels Feb. 22 Boeing event
The National Press Club Newsmakers Committee is canceling its Friday, Feb. 22 event on the Boeing strike. The Newsmaker was scheduled as a forum to hear about the union's strike plans and how a strike by 26,000 engineers and technicians at the country's largest aircraft manufacturer might hurt trade, commercial aviation and defense production. Earlier this week, Boeing engineers narrowly voted not to strike and to accept the company's latest offer. Free evening, weekend parking available for National Press Club members
All National Press Club members receive complimentary evening and weekend parking at the PMI garage on G Street when they spend $20 at the NPC's Reliable Source or Fourth Estate restaurants. Members who are using any of the other Club facilities at night or on Saturday can purchase a discounted parking sticker for $5 at the front desk. Complimentary and discounted parking is available starting at 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday. The parking sticker will not be valid if you park anytime before 5 p.m. on weekdays.
