Gridiron Club performance open to NPC members March 10
For 126 years, Washington's Gridiron Club of national journalists has held an annual show featuring satire and songs that skewer Presidents and congressional leaders, lobbyists and sacred cows. Now the Gridiron’s Sunday afternoon reprise performance of its famous show, traditionally given for friends and family, is open to NPC members. The 2013 reprise will be held on Sunday, March 10, in the ballroom of the Washington Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street NW. A reception, which includes an open bar, will precede the performance at 2 p.m. The reprise starts at 3 p.m. and will end by 5 p.m.…

NPC adds clubs in San Francisco, St. Paul as reciprocal partners
The National Press Club’s Board of Governors recently approved two additional out-of-town clubs – the University Club of San Francisco and the University Club of Saint. Paul – as reciprocal clubs available to NPC members. The University Club of San Francisco is located in downtown San Francisco on top of Nob Hill. Its clubhouse features overnight guest rooms and has two dining venues: The Dining Room, which is ideal for a leisurely, more formal meal, and The University Club Bar, the heart f the club and a cozy, pub-like setting for lunch, dinner and cocktails. U.S. GDP will grow If trade deficit drops, says economist Dean Baker
Washington economist Dean Baker told a National Press Club Newsmaker press conference audience Feb. 28 that U.S. trade deficit reductions deserve far more attention as a strategy for domestic economic growth.
