Shockwave: Countdown to Hiroshima
Stephen Walker talked about his book Shockwave: Countdown to Hiroshima, published by HarperCollins. The book begins with the first atomic bomb test in New Mexico on July 16, 1945, and documents the key events of the next three weeks leading up to August 6, 1945, the day Little Boy was detonated above Hiroshima. He used the personal stories of individuals to illuminate the historic events. After talking about how he wrote the book and reading some passages, Mr. Walker answered questions from members of the audience.
