Dinner plans to celebrate winner of Anthony Shadid Journalism Ethics Award, April 5
National Press Club members are invited to attend a dinner on Thursday, April 5, honoring the winner of the Anthony Shadid Award for Journalism Ethics. NPC's American Legion Post 20 members judge oratorical contest, award scholarship
National Press Club members judged an annual oratorical contest that awarded a $1,500 college scholarship to a D.C. high-school student on Saturday, March 17, at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Brian Gray, Tom Young and William Watson selected Woodrow Wilson sophomore Elie Salen for the scholarship given by the D.C. Department of the American Legion. It's nearly time to play ball with the National Press Club softball team
The Metropolitan Media Softball League season is just around the corner, so there's still time to play on the National Press Club team and take on teams such as CNN, The Washington Post and National Public Radio. The co-ed team plays doubleheaders every Saturday morning on fields in Montgomery County from April to June, with playoffs in July. Last year, the Club made it to the semifinals before falling.
