A memorial service for Club member Bill Murphy, who died Feb. 2, will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Triangle, Va., at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24. The church is at 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle. A reception will be held immediately after the service at the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad Social Hall, 3800 Graham Park Road, Dumfries, Va. Attendees are asked to park in the large lot behind the social hall.

Charles E. Schmidt, National Commander of the American Legion, will join members of the National Press Cliub's American Legion Post 20 as the post's luncheon meeting guest following his morning Newsmaker press conference tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 22). Schmidt's 10 a.m. Newsmaker in the Bloomberg Room will be followed by the 11:30 a.m. lunch meeting in the Cosgrove Lounge. The meeting is open to Post members and their guests.

Marshall Project seeks Washington reporter
The Marshall Project is adding a Washington-based reporter to its staff and is encouraging National Press Club members to apply. The Marshall Project is a nonprofit news organization with a mission to “create and sustain a sense of national urgency about the U.S. criminal justice system.” Successful candidates will have an interest in the criminal justice system and be experienced working with public records requests and with data. National Press Club members can buy tickets to the reprise of the Gridiron Club and Foundation's annual show to be held Sunday, March 5 in the Washington Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street NW.
