"Korea and the Club": It's a dubious honor, but some historians credit the National Press Club with a role in launching the Korean War. That's because Secretary of State Dean Acheson, in a 1950 address to the Club outlining the American "defense perimeter" in the Far East, made no mention of Korea. Guthrie to be inducted in Special Libraries Association Hall of Fame
Larry Guthrie, 21-year member of the National Press Club, is being inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Special Libraries Association at their annual conference in Phoenix in June. He has been a law librarian at the firm Covington & Burling for 22 years. He serves on the History and Heritage Committee of the Club and was on the committee that published Sachmo at the National Press Club. He is a member of the National Writers Union as a freelance journalist. Former U.S. Ambassador to the Six-Party Talks with North Korea, Joseph R.
