Get your photos ready for NPC's Members' Photo Exhibit; deadline Aug. 11
It's time to start sorting through your collections to find the best images to display in this year's members' photo exhibit at the National Press Club. The exhibit is the Club's annual celebration of visual story telling among its members. It's not a contest; there's no judging or prizes awarded. Images will be on display in the Club's main lobby during the month of September. This year, the exhibit will feature both print and electronic displays. Battle of Midway veteran to address Club's American Legion Post 20, July 13
Retired Navy Captain Jack Crawford, a veteran of the famed World War II Battle of Midway, will be guest speaker at a luncheon meeting of the National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 at noon Thursday, July 13, in the McClendon Room. The 75th anniversary of the critical battle, in which four Japanese aircraft carriers were sunk, was observed on June 4. The battle is regarded as the turning point of the Pacific war. 'First Friday Taco Night' celebrates summer, Friday
First Friday Taco Night on July 7 will feature a watermelon treat along our traditional free taco bar for members and guests. As a reminder, National Press Club members and their guests can still come to Taco Night every Friday as usual, nothing changes here. Reserve now for annual Civil War trip to Brandy Station battlefield, July 15
Seats are still available for the National Press Club’s annual Civil War battlefield trip on Saturday, July 15, to Brandy Station, Virginia. Reservations are required and can be made with Suzanne Struglinski at 202-662-7516 or [email protected]. There is no charge for attendees, but Club members are asked to bring only one guest each.
