Singing and tacos -- a fun combination at Karaoke Night this Friday
If you're looking for a fun time, or perhaps even a little bit of Aretha Franklin's R-E-S-P-E-C-T chorus, you can find it at Karaoke Night at the National Press Club this Friday, Aug. 31. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the Cosgrove Lounge. Members are encouraged to bring their friends. As usual on Friday nights at the Club, free tacos will be available during the Reliable Source restaurant's weekly Taco Night.

Last call: photo exhibit entries due Aug. 24
This is the last week for National Press Club members to enter their best print photos and electronic images into the Club's 19th annual photography exhibit. Entries into this celebration of visual storytelling are due on Friday, Aug. 24. It's not a contest; no judging takes place, nor are prizes awarded. Want to test your spelling chops against members of Congress? There are open spots for the journalists' team at the National Press Club Politicians vs. Press Spelling Bee.
