Public affairs chiefs of the National Guard Bureau will address American Legion Post 20 at the National Press Club at noon Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the McClendon Room. The guest speakers will be Tracy O'Grady-Walsh, recently named director of public affairs for the bureau, and Jon Anderson, deputy director. September will be another busy month on the National Press Club's 14th Floor for Club members and their guests. In addition to the traditional Tuesday-through-Friday Happy Hours and weekly Friday Taco Nights at the Reliable Source restaurant, three special events have been scheduled to help keep the floor buzzing. Deadline is this week to sign up for slot in 'Press vs. Politicians' spelling bee
Want to test your spelling chops against members of Congress? There are open spots for the journalists' team at the National Press Club Politicians vs. Press Spelling Bee. But to get one of them, you must sign up this week. If interested, email Young Members vice-chair Sean McMinn at [email protected] with subject line NPCBEE. The National Press Club's Events and International Correspondents Teams are announcing an evening with Martin Dahinden, ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, on Monday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fourth Estate Restaurant.
