Author to discuss book on horrific WW II battle at American Legion Post 20 meeting, Nov. 14
Acclaimed journalist and author James M. Scott will be guest speaker at the National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 meeting at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the McClendon Room. Club finances remain strong
The National Press Club’s finances remain healthy with no debt, $4.34 million in reserves and more than $8 million in long term investments, Treasurer Michael Freedman reported at the general membership meeting, Oct. 26. “By these measures the Club is in good financial shape,” he said. The lightly attended meeting included presentations on Club finances, membership and events. President Andrea Edney also led the members in a moment of silence in remembrance of Julie Schoo, the executive director of the club’s journalism institute, who died in May. National Press Club member Rick Pullen’s latest political thriller, "Naked Truth," has just been published by KoehlerBooks. It is the sequel to "Naked Ambition," Pullen’s 2016 bestselling novel. Pullen’s protagonists are always journalists who work for the fictional Washington Post-Examiner. His plots play off of current events.
