Young Members invited to network, learn about team at Friday happy hour
The National Press Club Young Members Team is hosting a happy hour gathering for Young Members on Friday, Feb. 23, in the Truman Lounge in the Reliable Source restaurant, starting at 6 p.m. Club members who are in the Young Members category — 35 years old or younger — are invited to join in and connect over tacos from the regular Friday Taco Night, which begins at 5:30 p.m. This will especially appeal to those Young Members who have been wanting to volunteer with the Team. Club members who served in World War II to be recognized at March 6 'Taps' ceremony
"Taps" are sounded every day at 5 p.m. at the National World War I Memorial to honor America's veterans. On Wednesday, March 6, the "Taps"-playing ceremony will honor National Press Club members who served in World War II and were members of American Legion Post 20, which is affiliated with the Club. National Press Club member Kay Floyd invites fellow members to attend the 2023 NATO Youth Summit on Monday, June 5. The NATO Youth Summit is co-hosted by NATO and William & Mary, with the Press Club serving on the planning committee. Celebrate Bill McCarren's Club career on Friday
National Press Club Executive Director Bill McCarren, who is retiring this month, will be honored at a reception at 7 p.m. Friday, June 2, in the Reliable Source.
