Legion Post 20 to hear designer of new World War I memorial, May 20
The new National World War I Memorial at the former Pershing Park in Washington will be the subject of a virtual meeting of the National Press Club's historical American Legion Post 20 on Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Joseph Weishaar, lead designer of the Memorial. At age 25, his design was selected out of 365 international entries in 2015. Since then he has been profiled in numerous media outlets for his design and continued work on the memorial. International Correspondents Committee experiences a night at Norwegian Embassy
The Norwegian Embassy was the latest to host a group of National Press Club journalists as part of the “Embassy Nights” series organized by the Club’s International Correspondents Committee. The May 2 reception was held at Norwegian Ambassador Anniken Krutnes’ residence across from the Naval Observatory on Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest D.C. Norway in 1931 acquired the historic building, part of which functions as its embassy.

The National Press Club Broadcast & Podcast Team resumes its in-person Legends of Broadcasting dinners starting Thursday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. with an event honoring long-time public radio host Diane Rehm.
