Club's American Legion Post 20 arranging tour of Army Museum
American Legion Post 20, which is affiliated with the National Press Club, is arranging a special group tour of the new National Museum of the United States Army, located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The event, which is being planned but has not yet been scheduled, will be open to all Club members. The tour will take place in March or later. The National Press Club's annual membership meeting will begin promptly at noon Friday, Jan. 20, in the conference rooms. Club members invited to service for Blake Hounshell
National Press Club members are invited to attend a celebration of life service this week for Blake Hounshell, a New York Times political reporter who died on Jan. 10. The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the 6th & I Synagogue in Washington. Times Executive Editor Joe Kahn and other colleagues and friends of Hounshell will speak at the event. Club Freelance Team kicks off its year Thursday at noon
The National Press Club’s Freelancers Team plans to host its kickoff meeting for the new year this Thursday, Feb. 2, at 12 ET over Zoom. Co-Chairs Ashley Merryman and Danny Freedman and Vice Chair Alexandra Bowman plan to discuss upcoming events, announce some new discounts and benefits available to Club freelancers and outline other planned activities.
