The National Press Club Scholarship Team will judge applications for the next round of Club scholarships on Saturday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m. But it needs your help. Judging will be conducted virtually via Zoom over a two-hour period. Participants will have the chance to review application materials the week prior to the meeting. Commodore Darren Grogan of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian naval attaché in Washington, will be the guest speaker at the National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 meeting on Tuesday, June 14, at noon in the McClendon Room. Grogan has been in his current position since December. Previously he was director general of maritime operations at Headquarters Joint Operations Command in Australia. The National Press Club coed softball team is looking to continue its run of playoff appearances in the Metropolitan Media Softball League, with the outcome of two games Saturday likely determining if it advances to the championship series in two weeks.
