National Press Club ballot set: Online voting begins Nov. 22
The nomination period for members seeking election as National Press Club officers and members of the Board of Governors has closed. The Election Committee has certified the ballots. Online voting will open on Monday, Nov. 22 and will run until 4 p.m. ET on election day, Friday, Dec. 10. In-person voting will take place on the 14th floor from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 10. Embassy press attaché mixer highlights International Correspondents Committee agenda
The National Press Club International Correspondents Committee has launched an ambitious new agenda to build relationships with the Washington embassy community. The highlight of the committee’s effort this fall was the Club’s first-ever reception for embassy press attaches, which was held Oct. 14 in the First Amendment Lounge. Voting opens for Club election
Online voting for 2022 officers and board members is underway in the National Press Club election. Online balloting opened Monday and will conclude at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 10. Members can vote in-person at the Club on Dec. 10 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. ET. Members wishing to vote online should use the unique code provided in an email from the Club sent on Monday, Nov. 22. Matthews on the Club’s indoor mask policy: “With all the new information related to the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus, the Club has decided to leave its current indoor mask policy in place another week until at least Dec. 8. Until then, we are asking members, staff, and guests to keep masks in place while in the Club (unless actively eating or drinking). Former astronaut and retired Air Force colonel Carl Walz will be guest speaker at a virtual meeting of the National Press Club's historic American Legion Post 20 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7.
