A former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence called for a bipartisan commission armed with subpena powers to investigate the Benghazi affair that cost the lives of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. All National Press Club members receive complimentary evening and weekend parking at the PMI garage at 1325 G St., N.W. when they spend $20 at the Reliable Source or Fourth Estate restaurants. Members who are using any other Club facilities at night or on Saturday can purchase a discounted parking sticker for $5 at the front desk. Complimentary and discounted parking is available starting at 5pm on weekdays and all day Saturday. The parking sticker will not be valid if you park before 5 p.m. on weekdays. Club softball team fall short in media league title game
The National Press Club softball team fell just short of its first-ever Metropolitan Media Softball League title, losing to Comcast Sports Net, 8-3, in the championship game on Saturday, July 13. It's the second straight league title for Comcast Sports Net. For the Club, it was the endof the most successful season in more than 20 years of league play. The day began with the Club losing a one-run game to Comcast to fall into the finals of the loser's bracket.
