Club's softball season starts in April
The National Press Club softball team is set for another year of action in the Metropolitan Media Softball League. The team hopes to build off of last year when it appeared in its first ever championship game, but ultimately fell short of its goal of winning the whole thing. All club members are eligible to play. Games in this coed league are played Saturday mornings in the Wheaton area of Montgomery County. The season starts in April and concludes with the playoffs in July. Martha Livdahl Grigg, spousal member and wife of member William Grigg died in her sleep at home in Chevy Chase Saturday, Feb. 22. Service will be at St. Columba's Church, 4201 Albemarle St. N.W., D.C. at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1. A prize-winning writer and editor, Martha had been in and out of hospital and rehab since Christmas for fluid buildup related to a uterine cancer diagnosed seven years ago.
