National Press Club members can now buy tickets for the Gridiron Club's Sunday reprise, traditionally staged for friends and family. The reprise, sans the white-tie and ballgowns, will be held on Sunday, March 15, in the ballroom of the Washington Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street NW. A reception, which includes wine and beer, begins at 2 p.m. and the show at 3 p.m. The program will end by 5 p.m. Tickets are $70 each ($55 is tax deductible). Thirty-six National Press Club members and guests had a jam-packed visit to the colorful and history-filled city of Istanbul Jan. 14-19, continuing the Press Club's tradition of trips to far-flung locations over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. WWII vet recounts decisive Battle of the Bulge
"The Ardennes was a beautiful forest" that "turned into a hell hole" 70 years ago during the Battle of the Bulge, Michael Levin, 95, a veteran of that last great battle on Europe's western front in World War II told a meeting of the Club's American Legion Post 20 Tuesday, Jan. 20. Levin recently returned from 70th battle anniversary ceremonies in Belgium, Luxembourg and France. He was a 25-year-old lieutenant and forward artillery observer during the bloodiest battle in U.S. history.
