National Press Club member Anna Nelson invites Club members to an International Committee of the Red Cross workshop for journalists on the rules of war from 1 - 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the ICRC Delegation, 1100 Connecticut Ave., Suite 500. "American Girl" author Valerie Tripp discusses series, noon Oct. 8
National Press Club member Janice Law will host Valerie Tripp, multi-award winning author of the American Girl series featuring historical fiction characters Felicity, Josephina, Kit and others, at noon Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the McClendon Room. Tripp will discuss how she approaches her children’s book writing. Veterans' history project is subject of American Legion Post meeting
The Club's American Legion Post 20 is to hear frm Bob Patrick, director of the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress, at its next meeting, beginning at noon Thursday, Sept. 18, in the McClendon Room. Speaker portions of Post meetings are open to all Club members. Congress created the Veterans History Project to collect, preserve and make accessible the first-person accounts of American's wartime veterans.
