Whittle to Discuss Drone Development March 23
c and former defense reporter for The Dallas Morning News and Congressional Quarterly, will discuss the development of military drones at noon on Monday, March 23, at a meeting of the NPC's American Legion Post 20 in the McClendon Room. All members of the National Press Club receive complimentary evening and weekend parking at the PMI garage on G Street when they spend at least $20 at the Reliable Source or Fourth Estate restaurants. Members who are using any of the other Club facilities at night or on Saturday can purchase a discounted parking sticker for $5 at the front desk Complimentary and discounted parking is available starting at 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday. Capitol Communicator features Club member Debra Silimeo
The Capitol Communicator interviewed NPC member Debra Silimeo, who spent a decade as a reporter in Washington, D.C., in an ``up close and personal'' profile focusing on her career and transition to PR. Silimeo, who serves on NPC's speakers committee and was previously on Newsmakers, talked about why she left journalism for public policy advocacy and the PR world, and the importance of community service. Club special committee to consider media ground rules for outside groups
The National Press Club will review its procedures for room rental to outside groups following a critical column by a Washington Post journalist who was denied on-the-record access to an Oct. 8 event. Post columnist Dana Milbank excoriated the International Stability Operations Association for prohibiting him from quoting certain participants at the meeting.
