Mix and mingle with journalists and communicators, April 20
Did you know that the Club hosts a number of special events for our members? The next event is the Journalists & Communicators networking happy hour on Monday, April 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Truman Lounge. The happy hour is designed for Club members and their guests to get to know one another and to learn how the club can help strengthen relationships between reporters and communicators. Photography Committee to meet April 22 for brainstorming session
The Photography Committee will meet at noon, Wednesday, April 22, in the McClendon Room. This meeting will include a brainstorming session to discuss plans and prospects for the committee for the balance of the year and beyond. All Club members are welcome to attend. White House reporter Connie Lawn to celebrate autobiography May 21
White House reporter and NPC Member Connie Lawn will celebrate her new autobiography, "You Wake Me Each Morning: The Final Chapter," at a book party at 6:30 p.m. May 21 in the Murrow Room. Club members are invited to attend. The book recounts her career at a White House reporter since 1968 and the struggles of her one-woman news bureau, Audio Visual News. Did you know the Club reserves the front two tables for members and their guests at every speaker’s luncheon? We want to provide our members with the opportunity to be up close to all the marquee speakers who visit the Club. The seats at these tables are on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early. Member tickets cost $23 and each member is allowed one guest at the member price. The National Press Club's Young Members and Communications committees will team up Monday, April 20 to host a networking happy hour for reporters and communicators to get to know one another. Join with other hacks and flacks for cocktails and light fare from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Holeman Lounge to learn how the Club can help strengthen relationships among reporters and communicators.
