Start thinking about annual NPC members' photo exhibit
It's not too early to begin making plans to enter the 16th annual members' photo exhibit at the National Press Club. Photos can be submitted through the membership office from Monday, Aug. 3, through Friday, Aug. 14. Register photos on the sign-in sheet with your membership number. The photos will be hung by the Photo Committee in the Press Club lobby on Wednesday, Aug, 26, and remain on display through Wednesday, Sept. 30. Club members invited to SPJ program on drones
Club members are invited to join the Society of Professional Journalists D.C. chapter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, for a panel discussion about the First Amendment, privacy and other implications of news media use of drones. Time running out for discount tickets for newswomen's dinner with Norah O’Donnell
Ticket prices go up June 1 for dinner with CBS News' Norah O'Donnell and NBC News' Luke Russert to honor excellence in journalism and raise funds for the American News Women's Club's journalism scholarships. Get ready for the 16th annual NPC members' photography exhibition. Entries are due by Friday, Aug. 14. Entries may be submitted beginning Monday, Aug. 3, to the NPC Membership Office. New KAL Toons Grace The Walls In Reliable Source
Each spring, the walls of the Reliable Source receive a fresh application of cartoons from the winner of the Herblock Prize. This year, the winner was Kevin Kallaugher who pens under the name KAL for the Baltimore Sun and The Economist. We had KAL over for lunch (he loved the crabcake) to see his work up on the wall with so many of the other greats. While he was here, he asked for a quiet place to finish up a drawing for deadline.
