Collector to discuss political memorabilia before second Democratic debate
Jerry Higgins will discuss political memorabilia and show off items from his own collection in the Truman Lounge before Democratic presidential candidates gather for their second debate on Wednesday, July 31. The second night of that debate will air on the televisions in the National Press Club lounge after Higgins speaks at 6:30 p.m. Higgins has spent decades collecting campaign artifacts and will discuss how candidates and their supporters wielded memorabilia to win over voters. Cheer the Press Club softball team in the medla league playoffs on Saturday
The National Press Club's coed softball team seeks the championship of the Metropolitan Media Softball League this weekend at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda, The team finished 9-5, good enough for the fifth seed in the 10-team tournament field, and will face three-time defending champion Bloomberg starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. If the team gets that far, the championship game will be played at the same park on Sunday. The park is near Montgomery Mall and admission is free. Come cheer the Club to victory.

BBQ and jazz heading to Reliable Source, July 25
The Reliable Source restaurant will serve a special summer BBQ with a side order of jazz on Thursday, July 25 Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a music from the Greater U Street Jazz Collective to begin at 6 p,m. in the Truman Lounge. National Press Club Books and Brunch will discuss "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens at noon on Saturday, July 20, in the Fourth Estate Restaurant. Club members get history lesson on Battle of Gettysburg on annual Civil War trip
Forty-five National Press Club members and guests enjoyed a fact-filled educational tour of Gettysburg National Military Park on Saturday, 156 years after the bloodiest battle of the Civil War raged over the park's sweeping fields and hills. It was the Club's 15th annual Civil War trip, hosted by the American Battlefield Trust. New fall Press Club co-ed softball team needs players
After a successful Metropolitan Media Softball League season that saw the National Press Club's softball team reach the playoffs for the 12th straight year, the Club will be sponsoring a team to play in a Montgomery County recreation league starting in September. Anyone who is a member or a spouse of a member can play. Doubleheaders are scheduled each week from 6:15 to 10:15 p.m. Tuesdays at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda. The entry period for 20th annual National Press Club members' photo exhibit is rapidly approaching, and here are answers to questions about the event. Print photos and electronic images for the exhibit are accepted from Aug. 1-16, and will displayed in the Club lobby from Aug. 30 to Sept. 27. Members can send in up to six pictures for display, four electronic images and two print photos. All pictures must be the member's original work and not displayed in previous Club exhibits.
