Club on Target for Another Profitable Year
With only two months to go in the fiscal year, the Club's goal of generating year-end profits of at least $1.4 million this year is expected to be reached following strong performances in September and October. For the first time, the Club had back-to-back revenues of more than $1.3 million in September and October, Treasurer Keith Hill reported to the Board of Governors on Nov. 22. Through October, the Club had profits of $1.355 million, exceeding budgeted profit of $1.262 million for the first 10 months of the year. Sally Quinn to Discuss Religion and Media, 7:30 pm Dec. 1
Sally Quinn will discuss religion in the press at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, in the Zenger Room. Quinn founded and moderates “On Faith,” an interactive feature on religion from the Washington Post. There is no admission charge; the discussion is open to Club members and their guests. It is the first in a series of programs on religion and the press sponsored by the Events Committee. Children's Holiday Party 11 am Dec. 11; $10
The Children's Holiday Party is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. Irish Group Honors Cosgrove
Former Club President John Cosgrove was one of three people honored Nov. 17 by the Flax Trust for helping reconciliation in Ireland. The Belfast-based charity's aim is to eliminate or reduce tensions caused by religious prejudice. The other honorees were members of Congress.

Early Voting in Club Elections Opens
Club members can vote for candidates in NPC elections from Wednesday, Nov. 17, by casting an absentee ballot in the membership office on the 13th floor. The membership department will check and validate each member who wishes to vote absentee. Members also can request that an absentee ballot be mailed to their residential addresses by phoning Sarah Driggs at (202) 662-7511 or by e-mailing [email protected].
