Club softball team stays undefeated
The National Press Club softball team improved to 4-0 with a 12-3 win over AP and a 12-4 victory over Bloomberg last weekend. Team veterans and new players contributed. Rookies Derrick Gingery, Andy Medici, John Heltman and Ted Costigan combined for 14 hits in the double header. Outfielders Mike Young and Clay Kaufman also came up big, as did EH Bill Holland. The Club team will play the Discovery Channel and CNN on Saturday, May 14.

Young Members screen Haiti documentary, 7 pm May 10
Join the Young Members Committee at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in the Holeman Lounge for a screening of "Lift Up," a documentary about Haiti directed by Huguens Jean and Philip Knowlton. After last year's earthquake, Jean and his brother Clifford Muse returned to Haiti to honor their grandfather, who died a month after the quake. Club softball team starts 2-0 with timely hitting, slick fielding
The National Press Club softball team is 2-0 after the opening weekend of the Metropolitan Media Softball League’s 2011 season. Big Blue swept USA Today 10-5 and Gazette 4-2, with a combination of timely hitting and slick fielding. The Club pulled away from an always-tough USA Today squad thanks to a five-run third inning. First basemen Mike Young was 3-for-3 with a single, double, and a homerun. He also scored three times. The Events Committee asked members to vote on their choice of movie to be shown in the McClendon Room.
