The 21st members photo exhibit, National Press Club's annual celebration of visual storytelling, is rapidly approaching, with the event's instructions and guidelines now available on the Club's web site. The first Great National Press Club Virtual Steak Out will take place beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. Reporters are known to do stakeouts, getting up before dawn, staking out the doors to a courthouse, FBI office, police station or the mayor's house. Indie authors group to talk ins and outs of audiobooks, Aug. 13
Audiobooks have become a staple in the publishing industry. The National Press Club's informal group of independent author members will learn the ins and outs of audiobooks at its next meeting on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 9:30 a.m. Will Dages, head of Findaway Voices, will speak to the group. There is something about the advent of summer in D.C. that screams, “Salad!” As produce starts multiplying in farmers’ markets and fruits start to come closer to local, a salad with or without a protein topper (to make it an entrée salad) is thoughtfully satisfying.
