The NPC's Books & Brunch group will meet at noon Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Fourth Estate Restaurant to discuss The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. The National Press Club Board of Governors approved The Yale Club of New York City as a reciprocal club. The Yale Club is located at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue on the corner of 44th Street, across from the western entrance to Grand Central Station. Journalists needed for Labor Department project
The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking journalists with at least five years experience to define the profession for the nation's occupations database. RTI International is administering questionnaires on behalf of the Labor Department to gather the information and has asked National Press Club members to participate. A photograph of an Underwood typewriter symbolizes writing and journalism for Silver Owl Tracey Attlee. Her picture “Dream Maker” of an Underwood she found in a railroad museum in Montpelier, Va., won her an honorable mention in the Art League of Alexandria’s October show.
