Silver Owls "hoot" set for Saturday, Oct. 27
Mark your calendar now for the next Silver Owls "hoot," which has been scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at the Club's Holeman Lounge. A reception will begin at 12 noon in the Holeman Lounge, followed by a full-scale buffet lunch in the Ballroom. Arthur Wiese, the "head hoot" of the Silver Owls organization, says that since the date is only 10 days before the national election, the program will focus, in part, on past appearances by presidents and presidential candidates at the Club over the last 104 years. Two head table seats available for members at Hoffa lunch Thursday
Please email Donna Leinwand Leger if you would like one of two complimentary seats at the head table for the National Press Club luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13 featuring James Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Come watch or cover them with fellow National Press Club members and bring your friends. Members' photo exhibit opens with reception, 6 pm Sept. 5
A reception honoring National Press Club members whose photos are displayed in the 13th Annual NPC Members' Photo Exhibit will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Club lobby and Library classroom. This year's exhibit has 197 photos displayed by 54 member-photographers -- the largest number of photos ever submitted by the most member-photographers in the 13-year history of this exhibit.
