Sure and begorrah, St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! The Club will celebrate it with its annual, immensely popular St. Patrick’s Night Buffet on Thursday, March 14, in the Reliable Source. The festivity, which will begin at 5:30 p.m., will feature music from the Auld Sod by guitarist Matt Palombo, a longtime Club favorite. February 27, 2003: Afghan President Hamid Karzai appears before an overflow crowd at a National Press Club afternoon Newsmaker. The Club had hosted Karzai a year before at a luncheon, where he announced his support of the United States position on Afghan detainees at Guantanamo.“They are war criminals, not prisoners of war,” Karzi said. Free evening, weekend parking available for National Press Club members
All National Press Club members receive complimentary evening and weekend parking at the PMI garage on G Street when they spend $20 at the NPC's Reliable Source or Fourth Estate restaurants. Members who are using any of the other Club facilities at night or on Saturday can purchase a discounted parking sticker for $5 at the front desk. Complimentary and discounted parking is available starting at 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day Saturday. The parking sticker will not be valid if you park anytime before 5 p.m. on weekdays.
